The United States Constitution Bill of Rights 2nd amendment says “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”

Our country was founded on freedom and the right to keep and bear arms is a privilege. It seems that everywhere you turn this right is being taken away a little at a time. We understand the need for security checks and hand gun permits and have no problem abiding by the laws. What we don’t understand is why so many people are against hunting rifles, pistols, muzzleloaders and shotguns. All weapons can be used to do bodily harm but they are used for hunting, target shooting, tournaments and collecting by responsible firearms owners. Every person should know how to handle a firearm properly from an early age. We believe that this would end the “taboo” surrounding firearms. Young people are the backbone of our country. My grandparents grew up in a time where there was a loaded rifle or shotgun above the front or back door at all times. Children were taught how to handle and shoot firearms at a very early age for hunting and protection purposes here in the mountains of North Carolina. No one ever heard of a child playing with a rifle, they would not have been able to sit down for a week if such an instance was to occur.

Team Frady’s hope is to educate people on the shooting sports, hunting and the outdoors. We do numerous events each year with young people and women to educate them and to dispel the myths and fears associated with firearms.
